Kingman Turquoise, mined in Kingman, Arizona, displays a beautiful turquoise-blue color and a distinctive light matrix. The matrix patterns vary greatly, making each stone unique; the light color of the veining is a beautiful variation from the typical matrix colors of gray, brown or black. Turquoise is one of the birthstones for December.
Turquoise is a soft, opaque gemstone that takes a good polish. The blue color comes from the presence of copper; green tones are provided by iron traces.
