Beautiful turquoise-blue color with hints of yellowish green and has a distinctive light matrix. The matrix patterns vary greatly, making each stone very distinct; the color of the veining is a beautiful variation from the typical matrix colors of red, brown or black. Turquoise is one of the birthstones for December.
Turquoise is a soft, opaque gemstone that takes a good polish. The blue color comes from the presence of copper; green tones are provided by iron traces. Natural turquoise is untreated, chemically or otherwise. Treatments for turquoise include electrochemical enhancement to improve color and stabilization with resin that darken and harden stone. These are absolutely so beautiful. This is my second time ordering a batch of these from this seller. They’re tiny gorgeous turquoise cabochons, and perfect for wire wrapping micro pendants, attaching to earrings, and incorporating into intricate beadwork. I love that I was able to find some pairs of matching ones in this mix for creating some earring sets.
